The idea to keepA wallet confirmation deserves the same attention as the action it authorizes.
Know the asset and the network
A swap exchanges one token for another. A name or ticker alone is not an identifier: copies can use the same branding. Match the network and full contract or mint address to a verified source. The same-looking address or token on another network is not enough.
Check what you would send, what you would receive, the route and all displayed fees. A network fee and a trading fee are different costs. These vary; a lesson cannot give you a permanent fee quote.
Price impact and slippage are different
Price impact is the price change caused by your own trade. Slippage is the difference between the quoted result and the result when the trade executes. Prices may change while a transaction waits.
Slippage tolerance sets the adverse change you will accept within the swap's rules. Raising it can allow a much worse result. A failed trade is not a reason to keep increasing tolerance until something goes through.

Read what you are being asked to authorize
Connecting an address, signing a message, granting a spending permission and sending a transaction are different actions. Some signatures can authorize valuable permissions without an immediate transfer. Do not treat a free signature as harmless.
Read the wallet's explanation of the action, assets, recipient and permissions. If it is unreadable or conflicts with what you intended, cancel. Clear transaction descriptions are an active area of wallet security work, not a guarantee that every prompt is safe.

Disconnecting does not cancel every permission
On Ethereum and similar networks, an existing token approval can remain after you disconnect a site. It may let a contract move tokens within the granted allowance. Reviewing and revoking permissions is a separate action. Use verified wallet guidance and understand the request before signing anything.
